BackgroundPRINCE2 is the de facto standard for managing projects, used extensively in both public and private sectors throughout the UK. It is owned and managed by the Office of Government Commerce (OGC). The most recent version was issued in 2005, and further developments are to be expected. What's Included in PRINCE2PRINCE2 provides a detailed method for project management. It uses a framework of processes (such as Initiating a Project, and Planning), supported by information on roles and responsibilities and detailed techniques (such as risk management). It also provides descriptions of management documents (such as Project Brief, and Issue Log). What's Involved in Using PRINCE2Because PRINCE2 includes so much detail it is often seen as too 'heavy' and cumbersome to be practical. In fact, the OGC specifically state that PRINCE2 should be tailored to meet an organisation's needs. This usually means producing a short, tailored guide, plus supporting documents like checklists and document templates. An external consultant's experience and expertise can shorten the tailoring process and improve the chances of a successful implementation.More InformationCheck out the following sites:Or talk to Miriona!
